Permanent Fat Loss without Fasting: http://athleanx.com/x/intermittentfasting
Not since "Angelina Jolie" have two words created such a stir with guys as intermittent fasting (or intermintent fasting as it's sometimes spelled). This nutrition of alternating prolonged periods of fasting with shortened periods of eating has been around for a long time but has recently been reinvigorated in the bodybuilding and muscle building communities. But is it practical as a long term solution to fat loss?
As you'll see in this video, while I don't disagree with the science of intermittent fasting as a viable option for creating fat loss, I'm not sure it is the best option (particularly as an eating approach for a hardgainer who has a hard time building muscle). Why? Mostly due to it's strict patterning that prevents even some of the most natural aspects of the social side of eating.
Let's face it. Eating is a social thing. Whether you're out on a date with your girlfriend or eating with the family, anything that puts an awkward strain on the typical eating schedule can make for a tough long term commitment. I feel that is where we find the more rigorous schedules of intermittent fasting, such as the 6 hour feeding and 18 hour fasting split.
But at the end of the day, whether intermittent fasting works for you is going to be the deciding factor of whether it should form the basis of your nutrition. I say, if you are getting results...then go for it. However the minute you find it impossible to stick with for life, then I invite you to check out the ATHLEAN-X program and the X-Factor Meal plans at http://athleanx.com
Every day is game day at ATHLEAN-X, and short term solutions just really aren't the consideration here. Hoping a large percentage of you will agree!
