'Eight years and 40 kilos ago!' David Campbell's wife Lisa shares throwback picture of the TV host before his incredible weight loss.
He's the son of Jimmy Barnes and the host of Nine's Today Extra.
And on Friday, David Campbell's wife Lisa posted a flashback image to Instagram, showing of the 43-year-old looking very different to his slender form today.
Lisa captioned the image: '8 years and 40kgs ago'.
David, who wore a blue shirt for the shoot, sported a noticeably fuller face in the photo.
David discussed having lost 28.5 kilos in January 2016, crediting his success with ditching greasy burgers and alcohol.
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, the TV host revealed that his family, including wife and children Leo, 7, and two-year-old twins Billy and Betty were his motivation for his new lifestyle.
'I want to be around longer for my kids,' he said.
'I want to set the best example I can for my kids and I want to be able to play with them too and bend down and pick them up and not pull my back out because of my beer gut.'
Admitting that shredding the pounds didn't happen overnight, the singer said that having to restrict certain things was an easy choice as the result allowed him to live a happy and healthy life.
David, who's now been sober for three years and follows a vegan diet, revealed last year that just by eliminating the booze and the fast food he went from 109kg to 80.5kg.
Speaking on the Today Show of the moment he decided to put down the drink, David said he had an epiphany whilst on a family holiday.
Recalling his experience whilst on vacation with his wife and son Leo he said he woke up one morning with a bad hangover and his three-and-a-half year old tuned to Lisa and said, 'daddy isn't well.'
'I felt shame,' he said.
'I couldn't stand by and watch this be normalised with the next generation. I wanted to be a role model for him. I wanted to be the best father I could - I still do. So I quit alcohol and I have never been happier.'
