After Weight Loss for Men: Correcting Gynecomastia

Watch this video as board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Kenkel (www.drkenkel.com) describes what happens when men have massive weight loss and need to correct for gynecomastia. A few things will happen to the male breast after weight loss:

• Sagginess in the breast
• Loss of definition in the outer border of the breast crease
• Movement of the nipples toward the center

The goal of surgery is to flatten the chest and reposition the nipple. After surgery, patients will need to wear a compression vest for 2 weeks. This will allow the skin to stay where it was repositioned and provide support.
